Bunker is a production center that was founded in 1997 without it's own venue but trying to link different venues in the Slovene capital Ljubljana and soon it will link some venues in Piran (close to Italy), Murska Sobota (by Hungary) and Pula (Istra region in Croatia). Bunkers main annual project is organizing JUNGE HUNDE Festival: Mladi Levi, an international festival of performing arts, which takes place every end of August in Ljubljana. Every year the Festival takes place in an industrial place or other historic monument such as Ljubljana castles, the Power Station, the Old train Station. In addition to organising the Mladi Levi festival and producing Betontanc Company, Bunker Productions is dedicated to find a permanent space in Ljubljana in order to start a new Center for Contemporary Arts (Slovenian contemporary dance and theatre as well as international work). The JUNGE HUNDE network and Mladi Levi Festival are important parts of that process. As an innovative production center Bunker is becoming a main Slovene link for international co-production, sometimes by encouraging them and lately implementing them. Bunker will involve he following partners in the project: Mladinsko Theatre, Glej Theatre, Dance Theatre Ljubljana, Regional institute for protection of natural and cultural heritage.
