Fake Screenshots Contest.

The pixel is a shy and suicidal character; it wants only to become less significant. When noticed it seeks to eradicate itself. Worse, the career of a pixel is at its height when it is disbelieved, and this is from where blurts like, "I can't believe that's not real water" have emerged in recent years.
As the curve of believeability eclipses human cognition, we start to distrust game developers and 3D modellers, and so conversations surrounding the authenticy of in-game screenshots are rampant in the forums.

One person who has followed the evolution of the pixel closely is Brody Condon, both as a practictioner and player. In an attempt to capture and corner this phenomenon, Brody's opened a competition for the Best Fake Screenshot.

At first a contradictory title, the Fake Screenshots Competition situates itself right on the unstable verge between believeable and incredulous. It's on this verge we're asked to flex our own perceptual jury, at once hankering for the Brave and Unnegotiable Pixels of Castle Wolfenstein3D while aching for the penetrating impossibilities of tricks like Fluid Dynamics and Hair Generation algorithms. What then is the Best Fake Screenshot?
