As part of the London Games Festival Fringe, Cybersalon and Select Parks host Artful Gaming at the Science Museum’s Dana Centre - a one-day forum and week-long exhibition that spotlights innovation and platforms new work, new developments and new thinking in gaming culture.

Artful Gaming aims to bring alternative games and the creative community behind them to the attention of the wider commercial gaming sector - showcasing small pioneering agencies developing alternative gaming experiences and artists and artist groups developing new work – be it modifying game engines, devising new interactive interfaces; subverting traditional gaming paradigms; exploring new platforms and new technologies; using non-traditional R&D and production methods; and distribution via new networks.

The sharing of expertise, technical or otherwise, formed the original 'grass roots' of game development, as we know it today. By situating an experimental gameplay/gamedesign showcase in the essentially industry context of the London Games Festival, Cybersalon are adopting an uncommon approach that provides great opportunities for artistic and technical talents to be redistributed to an audience.

Cybersalon and Select Parks aim to foster this unique exchange within London by bringing the underground games communities exploring alternative and more artistic game into contact and dialogue with small commercial gaming agencies and make them more visible to game enthusiasts, to the general art scene in London and more traditional audiences.
