Fijuu2: a game-based, audio-visual performance engine

The second iteration of the Fijuu project is now online, with full source-code available for download. A 4minute, 40M video clip in the Ogg Theora format is available in our downloads section here (it plays with VLC). Note this isn't a showreel by any stretch, that'll come later. Here are also a few screenshots.

Fijuu2 is built ontop of the excellent 3D rendering engine Ogre3D, and is entirely made using open-source components and tools (Ogre3D,Blender, VIM, Gimp, Inkscape (and others)). Fijuu2 runs on a Linux system, and uses a USB Logitech PS2 gamepad clone as an interface. To download and compile fijuu2 see the post by pix on the project page.

The project had a fantastic reception at Cybersonica06 (which was lucky given they commissioned the piece). Thanks to the staff, especially curators Chris and Lewis. For those of you that didn't make it, here's a flickr pool of the festival.

UPDATE 29-05-06: here's a YouTubed version of the clip.
