RAW (Radiating Addictive Waves)

RAW is a performance showing the raw results of a research to be conducted during piksel workshop. We would like to look into the representations of the body in relation with the computer. What are the habits sorrounding the practice of hacking? How many hours pikselites spend under intense exposure to screens and electronic hardware? What are the representations of the body arising from the practice of computer hacking? Are there extensions, mutations, symbiotic relations between these technologies and our bodies? Can we speak of degrees of addiction? Can we visualize them? Can we tell about those computer dreams after hours of hacking? RAW is a noise act showing the work of visualizing radiation, addiction and waves over our bodies

The Paris-based artists Léonore Bonaccini and Xavier Fourt form the artist-duo Bureau d´Etudes. For the last several years, the French Group has been producing cartographies of contemporary political, social and economic systems. The visual analysis of transnational capitalism is based on extensive research and usually is presented in the form of large-sized murals. "Governing by Networks", a chart produced in 2003, visualizes the mutual involvements and dependencies within the global media conglomerates. Revealing what normally remains invisible and contextualising apparently separate elements within a bigger whole, these visualizations of interests and cooperations work as a strategy of truth.
