Performance Enya Belak, Maša Hawlina, Jerca Rožnik Novak and Veronika Valdés: The Daddy Project
November 16th at 9:00 pm
The perfect family is but a picture of smiling faces. A captured moment, wrapped between four walls. Father [fah-ther] 1. a male parent 2. a father-in-law, stepfather, or adoptive father. The keynote of the dance performance is the individual relationship with the father, friend, stranger, confidant, enemy… but still dad – for EVER. Our relationship is abstract, simple and yet complex, emotional and unreasonable. And in spite of all, I love him…

Selected passages from reviews:
“With modest scenography, but a grand effect of light design (Janko Oven), a striking music score and sound recordings, the young dance quartet wraps up the event, which is marked by mature consistency, enthusiasm and physical integrity, and especially the thoughtful proportionality of the message between personal perspectives of the performers and the space for a free interpretation by the audience.
DELO, April 23rd 2012, Zala Dobovšek
“Each one of them is a personality for herself and also a dancer, who already has a specific personal dance language; Enya Belak presents herself in the lyrics of dance aesthetics, Jerca Rožnik Novak is a stable and compact dancer, while Maša Hawlina is effervescently playful in her dancing outbursts, and Veronika Valdes is dominating with the power of facial expression, which she wittingly and harmoniously combines with the dynamics of her movements. In group segments, despite individual versions, the four dancers are very harmonious, they feel each other and co-operate, and this is certainly an advantage they acquired in their common school and dance days, and which also adds to the pleasant youthful atmosphere and choreographic staging of their debut The Daddy Project.”
