A part of the cycle No Time for Art 0.1. is an intertwinement of personal experiences of three people, comparison of the violence triggered by the police on one hand and by the army on the other, along with the injustices suffered before and after the Egyptian Revolution. A young blind musician, testimony of a young prisoner, who speaks through his sister’s voice, and a young actor together tell their stories as if they were one. Performers complement and break each other’s narrative threads, coincidentally woven around violent arrests of two prisoners: the first took place in October 2007 and the second in March 2011. The stage is set up in a minimalist fashion, strength emanates from the words uttered in precisely tailored testimonies. Their vigour is overflowing and moving. This collision between the pre- and post-revolutionary worlds has brought helplessness and resistance in brutal proximity. The national TV programme flashing in the background. Blessed success of the army over the “Criminals who have terrorized the community”. (Laila Soliman)
