MOVING CAKE Slovene Dance Festival
The first Moving Cake was made in 2003. Slovene dance producers make it every two years with the same recipe, but always with fresh ingredients and present it to international selectors and audiences. The Moving Cake Festival is a condensed presentation of the best of Slovene dance productions in the last two years. This time, the selectors of the 4th Slovene biannual dance festival, Amelia Kraigher, Barbara Novakovič and Samme Raeymaekers chose 12 performances for the competition and 8 performances for the accompanying programme. In Stara mestna elektrarna– Elektro Ljubljana, we will see the following performances:

Urška Vohar: THE REPUBLIC, OR BON VOYAGE GRETA GARBO

What is on the margin is positioned to the foreground, and voyeurism becomes the main principle of perceiving the developments that unfold. (more…)
Via Negativa: OUT
Stage is power. This power is given to the stage by the spectator. The pride of a performer is expressed in the way he or she uses the stage. OUT is a performance that challenges the logic of pride in the relationship between the spectator and the performer. (more…)
Matija Ferlin: SAD SAM /ALMOST 6/
In his new performance sad sam /almost 6/ Matija Ferlin wants to investigate a mind of a child that is not conditioned by anything, not even by his own existence. While growing up, the conscience of the existence creates numerous “terrorizing” facts that are results of social conditions and constraints. All fictitious childhood characters become enemies. The fact that we have to grow up results in imperfections that make our lives and modes of existence specific and individual. (more…)
