FESTIVAL GODIBODI
As tradition has it, the now-fourth Godibodi Festival will present the novelties of contemporary popular and ethno music, which include a project prepared by singer, fairytale writer and collector of folk traditions, Ljoba Jenča. Also appearing: a debut by the Ba-rock band under the guidance of guitar player and composer Uroš Rakovec, a record by songwriter Mark Grobler, and a project by Robert Jukič and the accompanying music cast Dobrote iz skrinje zarote. The singer and composer Mateja Starič will present her authorial repertoire with a group of excellent musicians, and Maja Pihler a.k.a. “Bilbi,” with her recent breakthrough song Hvala za vijolice, will present her forthcoming record in a premiere concert performance.
The 2011 Godibodi will also feature renowned Hungarian flute player Eszter Horgas with the Classjazz band.

Concert: HARMONIES OF SLOVENIA
The release of a double record with contemporary folk music from various Slovenian regions will be followed by a concert, which Celinka is currently preparing in order to introduce all the vocalists and musicians that took part in the recording. The concert’s co-organizers are the Folk Slovenia Cultural Society and the Public Fund for Cultural Activities of the Republic of Slovenia. (more…)

A family band dedicated to poetry and music Papir is a representative of a new music movement named “The new evergreen” with its epicentre in Maribor. MAKfest
MAKfest is a charity cultural festival, organised by high school students. It will take place between 12th and 17th April 2010 in different locations across Ljubljana city centre, presenting both rising artistic talents as well as generally recognized artists. Festival Animateka in Katalena
audio-visual concert
The Association 2 reels joined forces with the music group Katalena this time, famous for its revivals of folk songs. This way both of them use their own respective techniques and artistic purposes in order to melt the stories, which reside in a treasure-box of our cultural heritage, into an audio-visual concert. The songs performed by the group Katalena are meant to provide inspiration for animated backgrounds as a visual element and for the folk material to be interpreted anew. (more…)
DJing Workshop
Children and young adults, from 12 to 16 years old, participated in a three-day free DJing workshop, where two recognized DJs (Borka and Bakto) demonstrated some basics behind record spinning and explained some interesting different points. They introduced their skill, which emerged from the dub and hip-hop world, in an entertaining and playful way. The new generation of DJs presented their freshly acquired skills at the closing party of the Mladi levi Festival.

CHRIS ECKMAN & THE LAST SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN BAND
Most known as the frontman of the widely-acknowledged American band The Walkabouts, Seattle-born Chris Eckman has for several years been rooted in Slovenia. His most recent release, The Last Side of the Mountain, features eleven poems by Slovene poet Dane Zajc, which have been translated into English and set to music. Zajc’s poetry – according to Chris – sounds like music. Besides songs by Dane Zajc, the concert will also showcase new music arrangements of older pieces by the cult Walkabouts and other compositions from Chris’ solo albums.
