Žiga Murko Group: CONCERT
Žiga Murko Group is a jazz band of the trombonist and composer Žiga Murko who in 2011 graduated at the Conservatory in Rotterdam. Stylistically, their music evades categorisation as it is inspired by new techniques and harmony of the urban scene as well as by traditional forms and improvisational music concepts. The quartet consists of progressive, elaborate, conceptually colourful sound explorers who will lead the listener to a new world of original compositions, turbulent improvisation and an idea of clarity, which will linger on long after the concert. The music will be accompanied by visuals. (more…)

Concert: Pionir 10 (Serbia)
Tuesday, August 28th at 9 pm
Butcher’s bridge
Magnetismerised
This year’s ‘festival band’ is Pionir 10, a Serbian collective that has not yet made its appearance on Slovene stages. They named themselves after a satellite, which was the first spacecraft to enter the asteroid belt in the early seventies of the 20th century. They like to refer to themselves as members of a lost generation. They are a New Wave group from Subotica, and were previously known as Miške i drugari. Their concerts sweep dazzled audiences off their feet. And no wonder: amazing music, great lyrics and contemporary sounds, wrapped up in sweet nostalgia.
Pionir 10 are:
Guitar, vocals: Mihajlo Rodić
Keyboards, vocals: Daniela Mamuzić
Guitar: Predrag Vitner
Drums: Aleksa Otašević
Bass guitar: Petar Mitrić

What matters most is being touched by the beauty that lies in poetic and musical expression; it is all about the poetry entering our ears, eyes and hearts. (more…)
