Branko Potočan & duo Silence: BLACK FRIDAY
Melancholy as an image of levitation set to music
The performance is based on the poem Melancholic Thoughts by Dragotin Kette; He passed through a forest, a dark forest – his heart filled with sadness and grief. He asked a luxuriant tree: »Do you have any friends, tell me!« (more…)
Anti Status Quo Companhia De Dança: OF FLESH AND CONCRETE (BR)
Following their intervention in public space Chameleons, Anti Status Quo will also contribute to the festival with a choreographic installation, which is a good representation of their style, or their creative method that connects visual art, contemporary dance, research, philosophy …
Of Flesh and Concrete is a choreographic installation of bodies and garbage. First, the audience is anonymized, and then becomes part of the moving (or evading) mass that follows the transformations of the shapes generated by behavior, bodies and garbage. Through the gradually evolving relation between the audience, performers and objects, choreography is being created, which incorporates the entire space, the audience and garbage in addition to the bodies. Of Flesh and Concrete is a simultaneous experience of despair due to infinite consumption, waste and devastation and the vitality of carnality; it is an inquiry of human condition that raises questions about living in society and how the current economic system shapes our behavior; it is also a physical journey among bodies and garbage, since the audience is exposed to both, and our cooperation maybe trains us how to shift away from the status quo.

Matija Ferlin: STAGING A PLAY: ANTIGONE
In his new show, Staging a Play: Antigone, choreographer and performer Matija Ferlin continues with his reflection on the concept of solo performances, and on the expanded concept of his Staging a Play series. By choosing Antigone, Ferlin decides to adopt the approach of complete reduction of the stage. He wants to reduce the character heterogeneity of the play in its functions to a single performing body, while at the same time preserving the entire narrative and logic of dramatic situations. Žigan Kranjčan, Gašper Kunšek: ALIEN EXPRESS
***open for public***
Cultural Days Playground for Theatre 2.0
The duo explores the relationship between two dancers and everything that emerges between them as a consequence of their differences. Firmly anchored in a poetic friendship, it travels between duality and oneness, removes down-to-earth patterns of verbal communication, and introduces a universal communication level, aiming to display the diversity of comprehending and regulating physical actions, regardless of age, political, religious or national affiliation, personal principles and beliefs. Children will get to know the bright and playful side of contemporary dance since the dancers connect hip-hop, freestyle and contemporary dance. (more…)
Snježana Premuš: POÍESIS OF SELF
Photo: Madster
“The dance ‘performance’ Poíesis of Self, created by dancer and choreographer Snježana Premuš̌ in co-operation with contemporary dance theoretician Rok Vevar, could be described as a fluid installation of moving, sentient bodies in space. In the continuation of her exploration of the physical as a dynamic structure of the reflective or intelligent body, the author expands the question of the presence (of the body and in the body) and the perception of body to the group experience, which involves visitors as well.” Nika Arhar, MMC RTV Slovenia (more…)
Maja Delak: WHAT IF
Photo: Nada Žgank
What if … We lived differently? What if – we didn’t? What If is a performance about not living differently. It is a performance about how time measures out the rhythm of our lives; how instability and hyper productivity dictate the rhythm of work and how resistance often frames the rhythm of feeling. What If is a solo of a dancer and a solo about a dancer; it is a dance solo about what the body is capable of doing and what not (any more). (more…)
Matija Ferlin: STAGING A PLAY: THE GLASS MENAGERIE
In his new creation Staging a Play: The Glass Menagerie, Matija Ferlin continues to mine the interzone between the abstracted dancing body and the conventions of the theatrical. For the first time Ferlin works from a source text, The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams, a play belonging to the theatrical cannon. When using a dramatic text as a source, the speech act is usually understood as the dominant signifier in the performing code. (more…)

SENZASENSO is a place where I cannot find meaning. / SENZASENSO is a state of restlessness that leads to nowhere. / SENZASENSO is an idea gone wrong. / SENZASENSO is a thought in decay. / SENZASENSO is the moment when I lose control. / SENZASENSO is a performance of insanity. (more…)
