“It’s like I’m in a movie that starts quiet but something is underneath and may rise unexpectedly at any time. I wake up. A blurred object is hovering right in front of me. I’m so shocked I can’t really see it. ‘I knew it. This is the Thing.’ I try to calm down and look at it again. (more…)

Juren and Dorsen work with five iconic and influential performances from 1965–1975: Martha Rosler’s Semiotics of the Kitchen, Cut Piece by Yoko Ono, Marina Abramović’s Freeing the Body, and Interior Scroll and Meat Joy by Carolee Schneemann. Opera artists will be a special surprise for the visitors of the Spectrum Theaterfest, which will take place from 1st to 4th July in Villach (Austria).

Lyrical Minutes in the City came about in the production of Bunker under the auspices of the Mladi levi festival 2011. The events were directed by the renowned Belgian artist Dirk Opstaele, who has been working with his Brussels-based artistic group Leporello for several years now. Singers/actors performing were all nationally as well as globally renowned opera artists. The synergy formed between the director, his sensitivity for opera music and outstanding performers thus assures the success of every »lyrical surprise in the city«.

Betontanc & Umka.lv will perform Show Your Face! on 1st July 2015 at the Spectrum Theaterfest (Villach, Austria).

Show Your Face! is a virtuosic performance of puppetry, theatre, dance, and live music that examines the effects of courage (or lack thereof) throughout the 20th century.

“This is sharp, politically engaged, relevant, timely, restless work.” (Chicago tribune, January 15th 2011)

“The excellent puppetry gives a breathless and anxious animation to the Faceless One. The choreography element is raw and fluid. The physicality of the actors is called upon to project ragged emotion on one hand and to keep the action flowing seamlessly at the same time. Music is haunting, melodic and quite beautiful.” (Chicago Theatre Beat, January 15th 2011)
