Nomad Dance Academy: SHORT CUTS #2

Short Cuts #2 are the international performances of contemporary dance. They are the culmination of ideas of 13 nomads, choreographers and dancers from six South Slavic nations (Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Bulgaria), Latvia, France and the USA. Between February 24th and June 22nd, the nomads will live, travel and create together, within the programme of the NOMAD Dance Academy Group. (more…)

According to Yasmine Hugonnet; movement is created between external and internal reality for both spectators and performers. This performance invites the audience to collect experiences and to recognize them, and at the same time encourages them to create their own path. It suggests sliding movements of thoughts, which sway between the body, images, senses, symbols, acts and emotions… “A, A! AA. It is a resounding space, intertwined with dancers, a musician, spectators and subtle lighting variations, which are then moulded amongst the fragments of our imagination.

GODIBODI (concert cycle): ARITMIJA

Members of the group Aritmija started to play and arrange traditional music pieces from the Balkans, as they found the ethnical tradition of the area a very inspiring source. Their repertoire now includes an increasing number of their own original songs. A good musical background and knowledge, and the mix of traditional, classical and modern music instruments have enabled the group Aritmija to create a unique sound and a very original style.

The colourful intertwining of text and sound creates an occult formula, a small theatre of colours of the text and music in various disguises. The group excels with their musical skills and the intuitive connection amongst the members.

GODIBODI (concert cycle): KISHA

By an error of judgement, world languages are divided into the beautiful and the not so beautiful. The Hungarian language is unfairly placed in the latter group. The international project Kisha, shatters such stereotypes with an intoxicating mix of Hungarian words and beyond genre ambient music, with an echo that evokes the memories of the music once heard on old radios from a bygone era.
