THE REPUBLIC; OR BON VOYAGE, GRETA GARBO is Urška Vohar’s Slovenian debut. After two solo performances, the author returns to creating a group project. The Republic or Bon Voyage Greta Garbo is a testing ground of desire. The body follows its own interests, tailors its identities, solves the consequences of rejections and searches for a space to express the repressed. What is on the margin is positioned to the foreground and voyeurism (silent observation) becomes the main principle of perceiving the goings-on. (more…)
