Bara Kolenc: STUDIO (City of Women)

The latest performance by Bara Kolenc wanders with her typical choreographic and visual language, through the dark chambers of loneliness: it follows the words, impressed into walls; it discloses bodies in moments of withheld breath: it searches for the origin of the creative impulse in the echo of the ineffable or in a vague gesture which changes the course of direction by accident. It finds its inspiration in the unusual life story of the Slovene female sculptor Karla Bulovec-Mrak, whose creativity was passionate, ambitious, bold and even masochistic.
