18th International Festival of Contemporary Arts – CITY OF WOMEN
Aging represents this year’s main festival theme. The topics are tackled by women artists of all generations, though with emphasis on artists of the middle and older generations, from all over the world and will range from intimate reflections on their attitude to their own bodies, its alleged defects and faults, to a broader social and critical dealing with the euphoric recourse to plastic surgery and the aggressive dictates of the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.

October 6th and 7th at 6.00 pm, 7.10 pm, 8.20 pm, 9.30 pm
The piece is about intuition, flight and freeze reactions, set in the belly of a whale. Film and live action merge with sampled sound and siren song.

October 12th at 10.00 pm
Two-hour performance will be dedicated to the three members of the punk group Pussy Riot who were, following a 50-second performance at Moscow cathedral, sentenced to two years in prison. The artists will draw material from the content of the closing argument at the courthouse, held by Nadezhda Tolokonnikova.
