The EarZoom Festival and International Computer Music Conference 2012
Under the auspices of the 4th sonic arts festival EarZoom 2012, the 38th International Computer Music Conference will take place, the most visible event in the area of contemporary electro-acoustic music to be held in Slovenia for the first time. More than 350 renowned researchers/scientists, musicians, theoreticians and composers will take part at the International Computer Music Conference.
The densely rich conference programme, consisting of theoretical pieces, musical compositions and sound installations, was selected in the framework of an open and anonymous call for contributions by a 500-member international jury. This year’s conference theme aims to revisit the established attitudes towards the sonic-compositional material and to highlight the currently few compositions, which draw on sonic instruments and conceptual strategies in order to generate meanings. The following lecturers and artists are invited: Seth Kim-Cohen (USA), Diedrich Diederichsen (D) and Johannes Kreidler (D).
