Kaja Lorenci: JUST IN APPEARANCE SOMETIMES AS EVERYONE ELSE

In the frame of 10^th BOBRI FESTIVAL.

The performance places the motor exploration of encounters and relationships at the forefront, but not focusing on a certain identity (image, person, story). In this persistence, the dancers manage to distil a movement that seems completely ordinary. Dance is dismantled in some sort of basic alphabet of the motor language which appears fresh and universal. A particularly strong effect of the bodies’ simultaneous power and openness as well as vulnerability is shown in the duets and the group image, but it is noticeable also in the dancers’ gazes. Every body functions as a special unit, an atom opening up to relationships but still remaining separate in them, itself, not melting or getting lost in the whole.

The performance is followed by a 20-minute discussion with the artists.
