TOUCHING DANCE: a two-day workshop
November 1 and 2 from 4.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.
a two-day workshop
This will be this year’s fourth workshop on sensibility and touch. We’ll observe what is common to all dances with a partner, but which is often covered up with pre-learnt steps, or the style of the dance. The workshop is suitable for all levels of knowledge. It’s intended for those that did the previous workhsops, as well as for those, for whom this will be the first one.
– jamming and reflection-
This Touching Dance workhsop will be a mixture of dance and reflection; where dancing doesn’t end with a talk, but where a talk feeds back into the dance.
During the last three workshops we’ve worked through several subjects, principles, approaches. After the conclusion of september edition, the need for more dancing became apparent.
Dance, as a time when the learnt can settle down, be integrated. As a space for applying all that was said and lived-through.
We’ll essentially jam through the workshop; taking take time to stop between dancing, to talk as a group: about what is there and what isn’t; what we notice, with ourselves, with others. What we’re working on. What could be different. After talking, we’ll continue dancing.
We’ll try for the talking to take less then a fourth of our time together.
The workshop is suitable for all levels of knowledge. In this workshop, we’ll focus on accessing risk, on unconscious movement and on finding, training and sharing one’s own physicality.
Welcome are those who attended previous workshops as well as newcomers.
Led by choreographer and dancer Jurij Konjar.
