Branko Potočan: When I Looked At Myself From Above

The film takes us through the working day of protagonists, female factory workers. Their basic working tool is their body, ready to execute strenuous manual tasks. Day after day, the same story, the same faces, the same spaces, the same tasks. Monotony is killing them, leaving them by themselves. Feeling confined, they are looking for a lifeline, a way out, an escape …

They are being led upwards, away from weight and burdens, to places governed by different laws of physics. They set out into the unknown, they dance, they swim, they float in the air. Working environment shows us the burden of the daily grind, while the events in the air provide insight to the other side, lightsome and weightless. The experiential film begins in an old abandoned bathroom with group shower, where our protagonists are finishing their working day. At some point, the day begins to rewind. As they are entering the wardrobe, they are not aware that today is not going to be like any other day.
