The performance is based on the motifs from the book The Man Who Tasted Shapes by an American neurologist Richard E. Cytowic, where the author explores the phenomenon of synesthesia from different aspects, thus offering provocative starting points for the reflection on humanity in general. His research into the synesthesia has raised a number of questions related to the overwhelming confidence in technology, the relationship between science and religion, end ethical questions about the attitude of doctors towards other people. When Richard’s friend and a synesthetic Michael agrees to undergo examinations and tests, a Pandora’s box is opened, full of ethical dilemmas and dilemmas of social relations, of civilization issues, and of delusions about the omniscience of the gods in white. All this solely due to the research of the phenomenon of which conventional medicine didn’t even want to hear about for a long time.

The performance was created in the context of the celebration the 30th anniversary of Matjaž Farič’s artistic activity, as part of the Synesthesia trilogy: Red – Trail, Synesthesia, and The Man Who Tasted Shapes.
