Via Negativa: OUT
Stage is power. This power is given to the stage by the spectator. The pride of a performer is expressed in the way he or she uses the stage. OUT is a performance that challenges the logic of pride in the relationship between the spectator and the performer. “It could be said that in Via Negativa’s case, the politics of the performance come to the fore each time. At the same time, sub-contexts pointing toward culture and politics, aesthetics, acting, directing, dramaturgy, reviewing, theory and others are questioned – contexts that co-create artistic ideologies. These policies create the conditions that enable performers and spectators to start writing their stories from the beginning and to subjectivize themselves again and again; these policies enable them not to consent to certain territories on moral positions (mortal sin as the aesthetics of politics) as is the case with the policies and politics of Western democracies.”
