ŠIROM (Slovenia)
February 2 at 8.30 p.m.

One of the most unique phenomena of the Slovenian music landscape, Širom shares an etymological root with širina, which means breadth in the Slovenian language. And broad it is, the music of this young trio, evoking the spirits of our ancestors with fresh inventiveness. Iztok, Samo and Ana, all experienced in numerous neo folk, post-rock and experimental bands and projects (ŠKM banda, Najoua and many others), take their influences from all over the world and process them with an open improvisational approach and more than a dozen acoustic instruments – from classical viola and drums, traditional banjo, balafon and ukulele, to self‑made kalimbas and percussion instruments. A contemplative spiritual journey through the essence of musical creativity.

EINARINDRA (Iceland)
February 2 at 9.30 p.m.

EinarIndra is an Icelandic musician who combines sophisticated electronics with his distinct vocal manipulation. At its core, we could call it electronic music, but with that certain singer‑songwriter feel to it, einarIndra’s sound is best described as electronic soul music. Echoing the likes of James Blake’s or Bon Iver’s latest releases, his big retro synth sound and high pitch vocals are characteristically overlaid on smooth textures of pads and futuristic beats. EinarIndra’s first album was released on the highly acclaimed Icelandic electronic label Möller Records in 2014. Since then, he has been a mainstay of the Icelandic music scene while garnering increased attention worldwide.

EXEC (Danska)
February 3 at 8.30 p.m.

EXEC is a pseudonym of singer, songwriter and producer Troels Abrahamsen, notable in Denmark as a member of the popular electro rock band VETO, as well as for solo records under his own name and his other alias, I Know That You Know. EXEC’s debut album, “The Limber Real,” was released in February 2016 by Tambourhinoceros (CTM, Iceage, Efterklang, Rangleklods …). It’s the polar opposite to his electronic releases: purely analogue, stripped down to piano, vocals and raw human emotion. Performed live, it grabs you by the guts and sweeps you into another dimension, where emotions take over and the listener stops in time.
