What choreographer Ula Sickle and sound artist Yann Leguay perform isn’t merely new choreography – it’s also the technique inherently inscribed in the very foundation of choreography as such. In their triptych of short studies, the authors examine how light affects our perception of body and space. And surprisingly, the impact it carries can be rather substantial. We see beautiful images in various constellations as they arise on the edge of impossible: a motionless body in short flashes of light comes to life, a dancer can be seen simultaneously from various sides, a play of shadows turns into an animated abstract film. But regardless of how intoxicating a body can become in this fusion of dance and light, the central place here still takes the theatre machine itself, which stands as a metaphor for a process that unravels as the foundation of every reality.
