And so on and so forth. The phrase implying that something goes on to infinity. If one has enough imagination that is…

The phrase can also function as a metaphor for the infinite repetition of the same. Or it can designate a mental state of such feebleness and weariness that the mind is merely left sighing “and so on and so forth.” And somewhere here, at the beginning of something that cannot be reached with the mind anymore, begins the performance.

“Ladies and gentlemen. His Majesty the Stage is ready to start its royal breakfast. Which mortal should we serve on its plate?” Images of the end start piling up one on top of the other and gradually take over the stage. The parachute failed to open. A torpedo speeding towards a ship full of immigrants. A deer lying in the middle of the highway. The oxygen is cut off. Last penguin floating on the last patch of ice. Passengers falling from shot-down airplanes. And so on and so forth. These are the stories of finality. Absurd and senseless, tragic and comic, fictional and real, believable and unbelievable. The only thing six performers from Finland, Great Britain, Iceland, Poland and Slovenia can do is to remove the corpses and hold on to the last traces of meaning.
