XD is part of the choreographic architecture C/o, a ten year project based on the concept of heterotopias.

Main focus of this fragment is the place of the Scene as a visual surface where the body is exposed as an image.

The word XD is an emoticon that represents a smiling face, massively used in blogs, chat rooms and in general in the written telecomunications. The cross (that in this case are the twinkled eyes) is in every fragment of C/o project as a “place indicator”. In XD it is a cartesian cross that defines the place of the sight. It is a X that works as a pointer addressing the spectator’s gaze, or as a cover on eyes of the performers, that are always filtered following the paradigma “who is seen doesn’t see”.

The format shapes space and time in the structure of a comic. The stage is cutted apart in small frames of visual space establishing with the spectator a contract that allows to see as “in scene” (ob-seen) just what happens inside of those borders while everything else is purely functional, invisible, ob-scene.
Teeth and a mechanic and cold hypersmile will be the fil rouge through a serie of references that goes from japanese manga comics to advertisement, pornography and fashion, drawing a body that aims to stay on the spectator’s retina as long as possible.
